Internal moves
Moving a piano within your home
Plenty of moves never leave the building: a piano to the next room, up to the first floor, or out of the way while the floor goes down. We handle those with the same crew and kit as a full removal.
The little move that bites back
"It's only going across the room" and "it's just up one flight" are the jobs that wreck instruments and pull backs. A piano carries its weight unevenly and its case scuffs at the lightest knock, so even a two-metre shuffle is worth the right people and the right technique.
Across Manchester we do these indoor moves constantly: swinging a piano round to face a different wall, walking it through to the next room, taking it up or down the stairs of a terrace or a converted mill flat, or lifting it clear while the carpet fitters or floor sanders are in and then dropping it back on its exact spot.
The crew handle every kind of piano, uprights, baby grands and full grands alike, with proper lifting belts, padding and skids. Before anyone lifts, we read the room: the doorway widths, the turn on the stairs, the flooring underfoot. Walls, skirtings, banisters and door frames get protected as we go, and the piano is set down level and square at the finish, not just dumped roughly where it landed.

Internal piano moves, answered
Can you move a piano to another room in the same house?
Yes, indoor moves are a regular part of the week. Through to the next room, up or down a floor, or simply turned to face a new wall: we bring the crew and kit to do it without a mark.
I'm having flooring or carpets fitted. Can you move the piano out and back?
Yes. We shift it clear for the fitters and carry it back onto its spot once the floor is done, so you never have to drag it across a fresh surface yourself.
Can you get a piano up or down stairs inside the house?
Yes. Turning staircases, half-landings and tight terrace stairwells are everyday work for us, handled with proper stair technique and lifting belts to protect the piano and the house.
